Diocesan Council for Social Responsibility

CSR exists to be a catalyst to Christian people engaging in mission through social action. They do this in line with Bishops’ Council Priorities and the five marks of mission.

It is their aim to put Social Responsibility at the heart of mission and renewal in the Diocese and they currently do this by supporting the Renewing Ministry initiative. They work as Council members (lay and clergy), advisers, portfolio holders and volunteers to support, encourage, inform and enable parishes and individuals.

They are linked in a cluster with the Industrial Mission Derbyshire LEP. Cluster members also represent the church in a number of outside bodies and through this interaction explore and encourage ways of living which are more in accord with human well-being and the Kingdom of God. They welcome approaches from church members concerning their joint work of mission.
