Holiday Clubs
Even smaller churches, which may not have the
person-power to sustain regular children's work,
can get involved in one-off opportunities created
by holiday clubs and other one day events.
Dates
in the Church calendar can be used for some events
as a chance to demonstrate why certain days have
a Christian significance.
Some churches find that a midweek club attracts
large numbers of children, who for various reasons
may not be able to come into Church on a Sunday.
There are lots of resources available for this
type of activity and doesn't even need to be as
frequent as weekly to be effective.
The 2006 holiday club resource from Scripture
union is called Pyramid Rock exploring the ever-popular
story of Joseph.
Borrow it from our resource
library to check it out.

Also a new resource available from the library
is Streetlevel, another SU publication which aims
to resource low-key, low tech, events which may
happen mid-week, aimed at those who have no church
background to help them catch a sight of Jesus.
Also available and popular for mid-week work
are Jaffa books 1, 2 and 3. Australian in origin
and well thought through and easy to use.
